September 30, 2024: The Knicks traded Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, a first-round pick, and several free agents for Karl-Anthony Towns. They re-signed Precious Achiuwa to a one-year, $6 million deal. They signed Tyler Kolek to a four-year deal and Cameron Payne to a one-year minimum deal. They extended Jalen Brunson to four years, $156 million. They picked up Jericho Sims team option and declined DaQuan Jeffries. OG Anunoby re-signed for five years, $212.5 million. They traded Bojan Bogdanovic, Mamadi Diakite, Shake Milton, and five first-round picks for Mikal Bridges and Keita Bates-Diop.
